At St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School, there’s one very special team member who’s been spreading smiles, comfort, and a whole lot of tail wags—Teddy, the therapy dog!
Over the past few weeks, Teddy has been busy settling into school life, offering companionship, calm, and a little bit of fun to students and staff alike.
A Warm Welcome Every Morning
Each school day starts with Teddy standing proudly at the gates, greeting children and families with his wagging tail and friendly face. His presence helps ease those early morning nerves, bringing a sense of warmth and reassurance to everyone arriving at school.
Joining in Classroom Life
Teddy has been getting to know the school from the inside too! He’s been visiting classrooms, joining in collective worship, and quietly supporting children as they learn. His calm and loving nature makes him the perfect school companion, offering comfort and encouragement in every interaction.
Dressing Up for Special Days
Teddy isn’t just about cuddles—he’s a pup with a flair for celebration! He recently became a Hogwarts student for World Book Day, delighting the children with his spellbinding cuteness.
And it didn’t stop there! Teddy also dressed in yellow for Mental Health Awareness Day, helping to spread joy, positivity, and important conversations about wellbeing. To top it all off, he joined in the festivities for St Patrick’s Day, celebrating the school’s special feast day in true therapy dog style.
A Pup Bringing Hope
In what has been recognised as the Catholic ‘Year of Hope’, Teddy is certainly living up to the theme. With every visit, he’s bringing happiness, reducing stress, and strengthening connections, showing just how powerful the presence of a therapy dog can be.
Teddy’s journey at St Patrick’s is just beginning, and we can’t wait to see what he gets up to next! One thing’s for sure—he’s already made a lasting impact, proving that sometimes, the best support comes with four paws and a wagging tail.
