Wellington – our gorgeous black Labrador pup has been busy soaking up the world around him (and looking ridiculously cute while doing it!). Since joining the Dogs for Health family, Wellington’s been exploring, learning, and spreading joy wherever he goes.
Out and About
This little lad has been clocking up the steps lately! From scenic strolls through local parks to bustling street walks, Wellington’s been getting used to all the sights, sounds, and smells the world has to offer. He’s even been practising his “bed settle” while out and about—yes, that means chilling out calmly on his blanket even in a park full of distractions! What a good boy.
Beach Days Are the Best Days
Wellington recently had his first taste of the seaside—and it was love at first splash. Sand between the toes, a paddle in the sea, and chasing the waves (until they chased him back!)… it was a day of pure doggy delight.
Oh, Hello There, Sir Knight!
One of our favourite moments? Wellington meeting a group of knights in full medieval gear. You’d think all that clinking and clanking might throw him off, but not our Wellie! He strutted right up, tail wagging, and posed like a pro. Brave and charming.
Early Days of Therapy Dog Work
Wellington’s not just out there having fun—he’s also been getting started on some very special visits as part of his therapy dog training. One of his recent stops was at the Army, where he offered cuddles and calm to those who needed it most. He’s still learning, but he’s already showing he’s got the heart (and the wag) for the job.
What’s Next?
There’s plenty more adventures ahead for Wellington, and we’re loving watching his confidence grow every day. He’s got big paws to fill, but with his loving nature and eagerness to learn, we know he’s going to be something truly special.
If you’d like to support therapy dogs in training like Wellington, we’d be so grateful for your help.
